Mathematics-Factor

Factor in mathematics is defined as a number or an expression divides another number or an expression exactly. Because result does not contain remainder.

Factors of 12 are
1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12

Here 2 * 6 = 12, in this case 2 & 6 are called factors of 12.

If a number has only 2 factors , that is number itself and 1 . Then it is called prime numbers.

In another way a whole number that divides another whole number exactly is called factor of that number.
